9.1.6. General information about capital repairs of transmission
Capital repairs of transmission - essential complex work for the amateur mechanic. It includes dismantling and assembly of a set of small parts. Numerous gaps have to be precisely measured and, if necessary, are adjusted by means of choice pro-rates and lock rings. For this reason we convincingly advise amateur mechanics not to undertake other works, except described in this Chapter and to leave capital repairs to specialists in transmissions. It is possible for reasonable price to exchange transmission on restored, and the cost of capital repairs of transmission in house conditions almost for certain will exceed the price of the restored transmission, not to mention the spent time.
