9.2.7. Replacement of epiploons
On automatic transmission there are three epiploons - a rotation converter epiploon, an epiploon of a shaft of the lever of the selector and an epiploon of a secondary shaft of transmission - which can serves as the liquid leak reason. If the rotation converter epiploon proceeds, you will find liquid traces at the bottom of a transmission casing. If the selector lever shaft epiploon proceeds, liquid will be visible on a case of transmission and on the pallet. If the leak reason - an epiploon of a secondary shaft, liquid is found on a casing and on a forward part of the driveshaft.
It is fashionable to replace all these epiploons, without sorting transmission though replacement of an epiploon of the converter of rotation demands removal of transmission and the converter.
Rotation converter epiploon
|
- Remove transmission and the converter of rotation (see the Section Removal and installation of automatic transmission).
- Examine the plug in a rotation converter nave. If it is worn-out, the new epiploon will start over again proceeding soon. Try to remove all sharp edges or agnails a small skin. If the nave is too damaged that it could be ground, replace the rotation converter.
|
- By means of the special curved tool for removal of epiploons or the screw-driver remove an old epiploon from a transmission case.
|
- Try not to damage an epiploon nest surface, removing an old epiploon.
- Grease sponges of a new epiploon with fresh liquid and accurately establish it in a nest by means of a replaceable head or a piece of a pipe with outer diameter a little smaller, than diameter of an epiploon.
- Install the converter, having made sure that it completely connected to the forward pump (for this purpose turn the converter during its installation until it does not rise into place against the stop). Establish assembly of the transmission/converter (see the Section Removal and installation of automatic transmission).

Transmission selector lever shaft epiploon
|
- The car and reliably establish to Poddomkratta it on axial support.
- Remove the transmission selector lever from its shaft on lateral face of transmission (see
an illustration). Do not disconnect the drive from the lever, otherwise it should be regulated again.
- Take an old epiploon the special tool or the small screw-driver. Try not to damage an epiploon nest surface at the same time.
- Grease sponges of a new epiploon with fresh liquid and accurately establish it in a nest by means of a replaceable head or a piece of a pipe with outer diameter a little smaller, than diameter of an epiploon.
- Install the lever of the selector and tighten a nut. If you did not disconnect the drive, then there is no need to adjust it.
|
|
Epiploon of a secondary shaft
|
- Back of the car and reliably establish to Poddomkratta it on axial support. Do not forget to block forward wheels that the car did not roll down from support.
- Where it is necessary for providing free access, remove system of production of the fulfilled gases (see the Head the Power supply system).
- Remove the driveshaft (see the Head Stsepleniye).
|
- Unbend a back part of a uvula of a lock level, record a flange in an immovability and give a flange nut by means of a 30-millimerovy replaceable head.
|
- Take an old epiploon the special tool or the small screw-driver. Try not to damage an epiploon nest surface at the same time.
- Apply a thin film of liquid on sponges of a new epiploon, then clear the end of a secondary shaft. Get an epiploon on a shaft and carefully establish it into place by means of a replaceable head or a piece of a pipe with outer diameter a little smaller, than the outer diameter of an epiploon.
- Establish a flange. Cover with sealant the party of a nut directed to a flange to prevent leaks. Tighten a flange nut with the required effort. Establish a new lock level and bend a uvula in a cut.
- You make other part of installation as it should be, the return to removal.

Check the level of transmission liquid and add it if it is necessary (The head Routine maintenance of the car).
