12:10. Replacement of a cable (cables) of the drive of the parking brake

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Unbend a cover at the basis of the lever of the parking brake and give a nut of adjustment of a cable of the parking brake which also holds a cable on the brake lever (both are specified by shooters). There are two cables - on one on each back wheel - and nuts for each cable. On some models to get access to these nuts, it is necessary to remove completely central console.
  1. The car and reliably establish to Poddomkratta it on axial support.
  2. Remove a drum (see the Section Replacement of Boots of Drums of Brake Mechanisms) or a disk (see the Section Survey, removal and installation of a brake disk) the back brake mechanism.
  1. On models with back drum brake mechanisms unhook a cable of the parking brake from the lever on a boot of a back brake (see the Section Replacement of Boots of Drums of Brake Mechanisms). On models with back disk brake mechanisms take off boots of the parking brake and the executive mechanism (see the Section Check of a State, removal and installation of assembly of the parking brake) and unhook a cable of the parking brake from the executive mechanism. For this purpose pull for an external cam and disconnect it from an internal cam

... then pull out the finger holding a cable on an internal cam and remove an internal cam

  1. On models with back drum brake mechanisms pull out a cable and its cover from the back party of a board of a brake, then exempt a cable cover from clips on the back party of the longitudinal lever (easier to pull out an old cable and to insert new at the straightened cover, than at twisted). On models with back disk brake mechanisms there is no need to disconnect a cable cover from a brake board, but for convenience it is better to release it from clips and guides to reduce its bends.
  1. Pull out a cable from a cover from a wheel.
  1. Grease a new cable with universal lubricant, then insert it into a cover and push through so that its end left at the lever of the parking brake.
  2. Push a cable cover through a board of a brake and attach the back end of a cable to the lever of the parking brake (for models with back drum brake mechanisms) or to the executive mechanism (for models with back disk brake mechanisms). Make sure that you did not overwind a cable during its connection.
  3. Establish a cable cover back in clips from a reverse side of the longitudinal lever.
  4. On models with back drum brake mechanisms establish brake boots and a drum (see the Section Replacement of Boots of Drums of Brake Mechanisms). On models with back disk brake mechanisms establish boots of the parking brake and the executive mechanism (see the Section Check of a State, removal and installation of assembly of the parking brake), and also a back brake disk (see the Section Survey, removal and installation of a brake disk).
  5. Lower the car on the earth and install an adjusting nut on the lever of the parking brake. Adjust a cable of the parking brake (see the Section Adjustment of the Parking Brake) and establish a brake lever cover.
