4.18. Check of functioning and replacement of the regulator of pressure of fuel

Fuel is extremely flammable therefore working with any part of fuel system, take additional precautionary measures. You do not smoke and do not allow emergence near a working zone of naked flame or lamps without plafonds. Do not work in a garage where the equipment on natural gas (such as heaters of water or dryers for clothes) with a match is installed. At hit of fuel on skin immediately wash away it water with soap. During any work with fuel system use goggles and you keep in readiness the fire extinguisher.


If the radio receiver on your car is equipped with system of protection against stealing, before shutdown of the rechargeable battery be convinced that the correct code of activization is known. Before a detachment of a wire apply for information in the Section System of Protection of the Audio System from theft and language of an instrument guard.


If after connection of the battery on the display of the dashboard the message in other language appears, then for the procedure of installation of language address the Section System of Protection of the Audio System from theft and language of an instrument guard.

Check

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Take off pressure in fuel system (watch the Section Removal of Pressure in system of injection of fuel).
  2. Disconnect a negative wire of the rechargeable battery.
  3. Disconnect the fuel line and connect the fuel pressure measuring instrument (watch the Section Check of Pressure of Fuel / Fuel of the pump). Connect the battery.
  4. Create pressure (establish a safety lock of the fuel pump and include ignition) in fuel system and check existence of leaks in connections of the measuring instrument.
  5. Connect the vacuum pump to the fuel pressure regulator.
  1. Turn on the fuel pump (watch the Section Check of Pressure of Fuel / Fuel of the pump). Take readings of the measuring instrument of pressure of fuel when discharge is attached to the regulator of pressure and when it is absent. Fuel pressure at increase in discharge has to decrease.
  1. Switch off the fuel pump and attach a vacuum hose to the regulator. Start the engine and check fuel pressure idling, having compared its size with provided in the Size table and adjusting данныхв the end of the Management. Disconnect a vacuum hose and watch the measuring instrument - at a hose detachment pressure has to increase jump to a maximum.
  2. If fuel pressure low, then block the line of return of fuel and watch pressure size. If pressure does not increase, then the fuel pump is faulty or the fuel line is littered. If pressure does not increase jump, replace pressure regulator.
  3. If the measured fuel pressure very high, stop the engine, disconnect the line of return of fuel and blow it to check existence of a contamination. If the line is not littered, replace the fuel pressure regulator.
  4. If the size of pressure does not change as it is described in item 7, attach the vacuum gage to a vacuum hose of the regulator of pressure and measure discharge (the engine idles).
  5. If there is a discharge, replace the fuel pressure regulator.
  6. If the measuring instrument does not register discharge, check existence of leak or a contamination in a hose and an entrance.

Replacement

  1. Disconnect a vacuum hose and a hose of return of fuel from pressure regulator, then turn off fastening bolts (are shown by shooters).
  1. Remove pressure regulator.
  2. Installation back to removal. Make sure that the new round ring is established. Before installation apply a thin film of motive oil on a ring.
  3. After installation of the regulator of pressure check existence of leak of fuel.
