4.9. Check, adjustment and replacement of a cable of an accelerator

Check

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect from the throttle case an inlet air duct (models with fuel injection) or remove the air cleaner (carburetor models).
  2. Watch opening of the valve of a throttle when the assistant presses against the stop an accelerator pedal. It has to open completely.
  3. Release a pedal of an accelerator and be convinced that the throttle valve smoothly returned to a closed position. At the movement the throttle valve never has to concern the case; if concerns, then the knot should be replaced.

Adjustment

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Warm up the engine up to the normal working temperature, then muffle it. Press two times against the stop an accelerator pedal, then check a free wheeling of a cable on the throttle carburetor/case. Compare it to value in the Size table and adjusting data at the end of the Management.
  1. If the free wheeling of a throttle differs from demanded, adjust it rotation of an adjusting nut And, holding a nut In (the engine with fuel injection is shown).
  1. With participation of the assistant check that by full pressing of a pedal of an accelerator the throttle valve completely opened.

Replacement

In the following paragraphs the procedure for engines with fuel injection is described, the procedure for carburetor engines - is similar.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative wire of the rechargeable battery.

If the radio receiver on your car is equipped with system of protection against stealing, before shutdown of the battery be convinced that the correct code of activization is known. Before a detachment of a wire address the Section System of Protection of the Audio System from theft and language of an instrument guard.


If after connection of the battery on the display of the dashboard the message in other language appears, then for the procedure of installation of language address the Section System of Protection of the Audio System from theft and language of an instrument guard.


  1. Weaken lock nuts of the regulator of a cable push behind the rubber plug and disconnect a cable from the arm located on the inlet pipeline.
  1. Flat-nose pliers squeeze the plastic holder and push out him from an arm.
  1. Turn the valve of a throttle and unhook the end of a cable from a cut in the valve lever.
  1. After extraction of a cable from knot of the valve of a throttle remove from a cable the plastic holder.
  1. Working under the dashboard at a driver's seat, disconnect an accelerator cable from the top part of a pedal.
  2. Drag a cable via the forward panel in salon.
  3. Installation back to removal. Adjust a cable as it is described above.
