2.1.13. Removal, check of a state and installation of the oil pump

Removal

Remove the case pallet (see the Section Removal and installation of the pallet of a case).

M10, M20 and M30 engines

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. On M10 and M30 engines give three bolts of fastening of the mechanism of the pump to a forward part of the pump.

Some models have only one central nut of fastening of the mechanism to the oil pump.

  1. Otboltite the oil pump from the block of cylinders also remove it. On M20 engines the oil pump fastens bolts across the block of cylinders to both of its parties towards a forward part of the engine
  1. On M10 and M30 engines the oil pump fastens bolts to a forward and central part of the block of cylinders
  1. On M20 engines the intermediate shaft sets a power shaft of the oil pump which, in turn puts the pump in action in motion. To remove a power shaft, remove the holding plate from the block and take a cap. Check a condition of a sealing ring and replace it if necessary. Remove a power shaft and check both gear wheels for existence of signs of wear and damages, in case of need replace them. The gear wheel of an intermediate shaft in the block of cylinders is specified by an arrow.
  1. If the gear wheel of an intermediate shaft is worn-out, or the bearing of this shaft is worn-out or damaged, the shaft should be removed. Remove the engine (see the Part of the Procedure of capital repairs of components of the engine), then take off a distributive belt, asterisks of cranked and intermediate shaft (see the Section Removal, survey and installation of a distributive belt and asterisks of its natyazhitel), and also a forward cover of the engine (see the Section Replacement of Forward Epiploons). The intermediate shaft can be taken from a forward part of the engine.

M40 engines

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Take off a distributive belt as it is described in the Section Removal, survey and installation of a distributive belt and asterisks of its natyazhitel.
  2. Remove a head of cylinders as it is described in the Section Removal and installation of a head of cylinders.
  1. Give a nut and remove a natyazhitel of a distributive belt from a forward face cover.
  1. If necessary give screws of adjustment of gaps from the block of cylinders.
  2. Give a bolt of fastening of a nave of a bent shaft, at the same time holding the crankshaft in an immovability. This bolt is tightened with very big effort and therefore it is important not to allow the crankshaft to be turned. It would be best of all to priboltit a metal collar to an asterisk, it is also possible to remove a starter and to hold a flywheel the screw-driver with a wide sting. Using the improvised methods of deduction of the crankshaft in an immovability, do not forget that at the same time there is a possibility of damage of surrounding components.
  3. Remove an asterisk and a strut, having noticed that the flange of a strut is directed inside.
  1. Give bolts and remove stabilizing...

... and the directing rollers from a forward face cover.

  1. By means of the small screw-driver or the similar tool take a spline from a flute in a crankshaft pin.
  1. Remove an expansion ring from the crankshaft.
  1. Give fixing bolts and remove a forward face cover and the oil pump from the block of cylinders.
  1. Notice an arrangement of bolts of a forward cover since they differ by the sizes. Having uncovered, take a rubber sealing ring from a flute in a crankshaft pin.
  1. Notice the correct provision of an epiploon, then take it from a casing.

Check of a state

Considering that the faulty oil pump can serve as the reason of serious damages of the engine, we recommend to replace its every time during capital repairs of the engine, except cases when it in a fine state.

M10, M20 and M30 engines

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Uncover and check the case, gear wheels or rotors and a cover for existence of cracks and signs of wear (especially in places where the gear wheel or a rotor adjoin to other components).
  2. Check the filter to make sure that it is not littered and is not damaged.
  3. Oil gear wheels pure engine, then install a pump cover on the case both exactly and reliably tighten bolts.
  4. Before installation of the pump - new, capitally repaired or old - check its work on the engine. Fill a pure container with fresh engine oil of the recommended viscosity approximately on 2.5 - 3 cm.
  5. Ship an inlet opening of the oil pump in oil and turn a power shaft of the pump a hand counterclockwise. At turn of a shaft oil has to pour out from the pump outlet.

M40 engines

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Having established a forward face cover on a workbench, give bolts and remove a cover plate that rotors of the oil pump were visible.
 
  1. Notice the provision of rotors, then remove an internal rotor from a casing...

... and external rotor of the oil pump.

  1. Carefully clean rotors and a casing, then establish rotors in earlier noticed situation. The internal rotor should be established so that the guide was turned to the case.
  1. Using a probe edge, measure a gap between the case of the oil pump and an external rotor.

... then check a gap between external and internal rotors.

  1. If the size of a gap does not coincide with specified in the Size table and adjusting data at the end of the Management, all oil pump, and also a forward face cover are subject to replacement. If the size of a gap is in limits of admissible, remove rotors, then pour a little motive oil in a casing. Establish rotors and rotate them to distribute oil on their surfaces.
  2. Establish a plate of a cover and tighten bolts with the required effort.
  1. To check the safety valve, take a lock ring...

... also remove the plug.

... spring...

... and piston...

  1. Check whether spring length coincides with the value specified in the Size table and adjusting data at the end of the Management.
  1. Collect the safety valve as it should be, the return to removal.

Installation

M10, M20 and M30 engines

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Make sure that adjusting surfaces pure and insert the pump into special deepening on the block of cylinders. Spread bolts and tighten them with the required effort.
  2. You make installation upside-down

M40 engines

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Clear the interfaced surfaces, then install a forward face cover and the oil pump together with new laying on the block of cylinders.
  1. Tighten bolts with the required effort. Pay attention that here bolts of two different sizes having various efforts of tightening are used.
  1. Establish an expansion ring on a forward part of a bent shaft.
  2. Apply engine oil on sponges of a new epiploon, then a vpressuyta an epiploon in a casing on earlier noted place. To provide equal installation of an epiploon into place, use a big replaceable head and a bolt of a pulley of the crankshaft for its installation.
  1. Establish a spline in a flute in a nasal part of the crankshaft.
  1. Establish the stabilizing roller on a forward face cover and tighten a bolt.
  2. Establish an asterisk, a strut and a bolt of a pulley of the crankshaft. Tighten a bolt with the required effort, holding the crankshaft in an immovability by means of one of the methods described above.
  3. Establish a tension roller of a distributive belt, but do not tighten a bolt yet.
  4. Establish a head of cylinders as it is described in the Section Removal and installation of a head of cylinders.
  5. Establish a distributive belt as it is described in the Section Removal, survey and installation of a distributive belt and asterisks of its natyazhitel.
  6. Install the case pallet (see the Section Removal and installation of the pallet of a case).
