17.8. Check of level of liquid of system of hydrostrengthening of a wheel

Two times a year or each 10 000 km of a run (that will come earlier)

Periodically check liquid level in system of hydrostrengthening of a wheel in order to avoid emergence of problems with management of the car, such as damage of the steering pump. Act as follows.

Do not hold a steering wheel turned against the stop in this or that party more than five seconds. It can put the steering pump out of action.

On some models the tank of system of hydrostrengthening of a wheel is located in the left part of a motive compartment and has the unscrewing cover with the measuring probe which is built in in it. On other models the system of hydrostrengthening and the vacuum amplifier having one general tank located in the right back corner of a motive compartment is used.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Park the car on the flat platform and cock the parking brake.
  1. On models with the built-in probe start the engine and warm up it up to the normal temperature. With the engine idling turn a steering wheel from an emphasis against the stop several times to remove air from system of steering. Switch off the engine, uncover the tank, having turned it counterclockwise, wipe the measuring probe dry and close a cover. Again open a cover and check liquid level. It has to be between two tags.
  1. On models with the vacuum hydraulic booster squeeze out a brake pedal ten times or until it does not begin "to resist". Give a nut, uncover and make sure that the level of liquid is not lower, than 6.0 mm from tank top.
  1. Add liquid small doses until it reaches the necessary level.

Do not allow a liquid modulation. If all this happened, remove surplus with the pure syringe. Close a cover.

  1. If it is required frequent having added liquids, check hoses and nipple connections of system of hydrostrengthening of a wheel for existence of signs of wear and leaks (see the Section Check of a State and Replacement of Hoses of a Motive Compartment).
  2. Check a state and a tension of a driving belt (see the Section Check of a State, adjustment of a tension and replacement of driving belts).
